Our Best Answer - What is a California College Promise Grant?

California College Promise Grant

California residents and students with AB 540 status may apply for a California College Promise Grant by submitting a manual California College Promise Grant application, an E-California College Promise Grant Application or by completing a FAFSA application.

California College Promise Grants begin in the summer semester of each academic year and must be renewed every year. California College Promise Grants are awarded for the current term in which the application is submitted and for following terms in the Financial Aid Year.

Santa Monica College Promise

The Santa Monica College Promise is different from the California College Promise Grant. The Santa Monica College Promise program offers free tuition and up to $1,200 in textbook voucherse to eligible students. Students must be new, full-time students who just graduated from high school anywhere in California. For more information, visit Santa Monica College Promise.
